My brain is full of brain

My brain does not want me to function. It’s making it difficult to study.

Of course, it always gets surreal when I’m using my brain to learn about my brain.

Textbook: *information about declarative memory*

Me: Hey, I’m trying to use that right now! lol.

And then I laughed for five minutes at this picture of a floating upper body being vaguely surprised by a cobra.

If you look at his eyes, you notice that he’s not even looking directly at the cobra. He’s clearly more surprised at the lines emanating from his forehead.

How is this my life?

Science! Wait, what?

This was a heading image for my neuroscience class’s slideshow about brain plasticity. Apparently babies are perpetually on LSD.

What the fuck, man?

you-be-killin-em:

serotonin - happiness, satisfaction
dopamine - love, passion, pleasureacetylcholine - learning, memory, dreaming

I need this. For SCIENCE. The only problem is that the benzene rings are missing their double bonds and look more like cyclohexane. Yeah, I’m cool like that.

So I Heard You Like Eyes

This morning in Neuroscience class I learned about eyes and figured out why exactly I need glasses. Coincidentally, this was a morning when I had also forgotten my glasses (but could still see enough, it was just a bit blurry).

All I could think about is that I was using my eyes to learn about my eyes. It was kind of weird.
